This series aimed to provide a fascinating glimpse into the hard work and dedication that goes into craft and blacksmithing. Through these photographs I hoped to show the process of blacksmithing and the skilled craftsmanship that is required. The images capture the intense heat of the forge, the sparks flying as the metal is shaped, and the focused determination of Andy's work.
I hope as an audience there is a sense of deeper appreciation for the time, effort, and passion that goes into creating hand-forged metalworks.
By highlighting the human element of blacksmithing, I hope this social documentary photography series provides a meaningful representation of the trade. It should also bring attention to the industry, helping to preserve its legacy and showcasing its importance in the cultural heritage of Glasgow.
